Or just fix the connection and turns. No turn restrictions. It’s a one-lane paved private road. It’s nearly impossible to find based on the street address alone, which is why I’m adding it. We tend to arrive at night, and we’ve missed it 3 times out of 5. If you look at openstreetmap for this area, there were aerials there that clearly show the road shape. I eyeballed it drawing in Waze, but it’s pretty close.
Good morning. It appears you’re trying to route to 1597 River Rd, correct? I’ve made the needed changes in Waze that are being processed. They should be live in the app in 24-72 hours.
You will need to take action in your app to make the new search results routable.
Go to Where to? > tap three dots next to address (if the dots are not present, do a long-press) > tap Remove drive. Repeat these steps in Saved places, Home, and Work. Then re-add the destination. These steps will clear the navigation cache for this address. If this is not done you will continue to get improper navigation.
Thanks! I’ll try to do that tonight. I was confused by one thing. I don’t want the private road to be 1597 River Rd. I think (?) that the node needs to have that? The preferred name for the private road is “Hartberg Trail”. I’ll see what I can do tonight when I’m at my laptop.
So, private roads are generally not named. I set the road name to ‘none’ with alternates that you already listed in the segment. To actually set the USPS as 1597 River Rd we have to enter a Residential Place Point with that information and place it at the actual destination. you’ll see this as a triangle on the house at the end of the driveway. The private road itself won’t actually show a name.
Once the next tile update happens, it will be visible on the map. You should already be able to search 1597 River Rd, Kingston in the app (but until the new road appears it will just stop on the main road).
Certain roads (like River Rd) are kept uplocked to ensure bad edits don’t affect routing (intentionally or unintentionally). Lower ranked editors, like yourself, are welcome to request unlocks to make these changes yourself. I went ahead and made the changes to make sure we hit today’s cutoff for updates. That’s why you couldn’t actually have your newly drawn (very nicely BTW) road actually connect to River Rd.
