It seems there is no level 4 or 5 editor active in the UAE. Both an Abu Dhabi AM and me, Dubai AM are looking for unlocking of parts of major roads to be able to connect ramps and other roads and to solve UR’s. There is no logical locking of the roads: parts of a major road, E11 is locked at level 5, others at level 4 and most are not locked at all. Road naming is not consistent as well. The same road can be Freeway, major or minor highway.
It might be logical to unlock the roads from level 4 and 5 and lock them again at level 3 so we can go ahead with editing.
Well, there are some issues on E44 southbound until connecting again with E311… See my other post in this forum and some URs in the map. So, actually, even you have to drive the area yourself to get editing rights for Dubai? There is no kind of Country Manager to unlock the many level 4 locks?
I saw you working on Al Itihad Str. near Al Quds Str. I think there are some arrows still on red which should be green.
I am working on the main roads for now and trying to solve URs. What do you think of nominating the main roads? Which ones should be freeway? And which ones main or minor highways? How do the other active editors feel about this?
There is plently a lot to do in Dubai. I edited there because i was trying to fix my way to the mall :lol:
I cant request CM for UAE as i dont live there, but i edit the areas i am driving, otherwise i can request the area. Let me know if i can help you guys!
The road types are based in average traffic every day. If one street has heavy traffic every day, even if it is big enough, you cant call it a highway (even tho it may be)
Agreed, still a lot to be done to get the maps to a usable level. I still wouldn’t trust the routing on the maps; I only use the navigation function to find errors. Last night I found an area on the E-311 where segments weren’t joined so it was directing me off the highway, drive through an area and then back onto the highway.
Junctions are still a mess, and I regularly take an area and start removing all the unnecessary segments and do some cleanup. Most of the time I seem to be banging on the trashcan icon.

I still think all freeways and major and minor highways should become unlocked from level 4 and 5 and locked at level 3. Doing so gives the level 3 editors the possibility to adjust the junctions and ramps/exits and give them proper names. After completing larger parts of highways (I will submit them in the forum), they can be locked at level 5 again.
Hi talk to Enhket about the breakouts and descend the level in high, major and minor road to level 3 for a couple of weeks to make the improvements that are needed. when they are made please notify to re-upload the level. If same roand dont bi changed please sen a permalink here to make a change. I start work now.
