Unusual address - I couldn't fix it on my own

Hi lovely Waze Map Editors,

I wanted to fix my sister’s house’s location, but ran into trouble. She lives at:
3505 Villa Ct. Unit 10, Austin, TX, 78751
which should be at GPS coordinates:
30.232699, -97.769471.

Four other addresses on her cul-de-sac have the wrong location. If you want to fix all the messed up ones:
Unit 9: 30.232789, -97.769415
Unit 10: 30.232699, -97.769471
Unit 11: 30.232606, -97.769498
Unit 12: 30.232518, -97.769595
Unit 13: 30.232611, -97.769743
(Unit 1 is on your left when driving into the cul-de-sac; Unit 13 is on your right.)

My top goal is to fix my sister’s house’s location in Google Maps. My sister is selling the house and every real-estate app uses Google Maps, which show the house in the wrong location. That could mean a lot of money for her! I’ve tried to figure out how to move the “pin” in Google Maps or report the issue, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it / submit a request. I figured that fixing it in Waze might fix it in Google? They’re the same company, right?

I tried fixing it in the Waze Map Editor. When I type in the address, it shows up as a red pin. But I couldn’t figure out how to interact with the red pin. I learned how to renumber the street, but I didn’t know if I should type “3505 Unit 10” into the address number box. (And I don’t want to mess up Waze directions for the 8 houses on the cul-de-sac that work!) I searched the web + wiki for what to do but had no luck.

If you can fix it in Waze, thank you! If you can fix it in Google Maps, you’re her hero!

Mike,

I’ve submitted a report to Google Maps. I hate to tell you, but sometimes they address reports within hours and other times they … well … don’t. For weeks. (And no, they’re not the same company, even though they both have the same owner.)

Neither Waze nor Google Maps deals very well with addresses that contain unit numbers. If you just set your destination as “3505 Villa Ct” without the unit, either app will get you to the cul-de-sac, and it should be simple enough to find the house at that point.

mdnahas,

I am an editor based in Austin, thanks for your report. Unfortunately, as russblau mentioned, we don’t have a way to enter unit/apartment numbers in Waze. We can only enter the main address (3505 Villa Ct, Austin, TX).

I have made sure that the address is in Waze and it should route to the main entrance for all the units. It will take several days for my addition to reach the app.

Thanks russblau! Thanks jm6087!
