You should always edit with 100% certainty, never guess. If something looks obviously out of place or irregular, please ask questions. You can also make a post in our dedicated Canada forum here: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=57, or any of the more relevant subforums for questions or issues you come across.
During segment editing, you may find that some roads are locked to a higher level; you can request an unlock here: https://www.waze.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=358. Note that typically we don’t unlock a segment more than a couple of lock levels, so expect the much higher locked things to be completed by the editor working through the unlock requests. Specific to this unlock request, please ensure that you read the READ THIS FIRST!! Posting guidelines here https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=358&t=47483. We need to have a permalink to process unlocks. We don’t unlock places, but you are still able to make edits to places and when you save them, a Place Update Request is created which will be processed by another editor with editing rights. With respect to your level, we are a self managed community and you will be automatically upgraded to Rank 2 when you’ve completed 3000 edits. This is to protect the map and ensure that you gain sufficient experience and skills as you edit.
