URGENT Road Closure — I-65 SB at CR-87 / Exit 234, Shelby County, AL

Hi Editors,

Please add a temporary closure for I-65 Southbound at/around CR-87 (Exit 234) in Shelby County, Alabama.

The southbound interstate is currently completely closed because construction equipment struck the CR-87 overpass. Concrete/debris fell onto the I-65 southbound lanes, and ALDOT is evaluating the bridge. The CR-87 overpass is also closed.

Waze is currently not showing the closure and is routing drivers through the affected area.

I-65 SB has reopened as of approximately 7:00 PM CDT. Please remove the temporary closure. CR-87 bridge remains closed for repairs.

Thanks for letting us know, I-65 has been opened back up last night. Current research shows that only the SB lanes of the bridge are closed.
