I recently drove through Cairo and IDOT has the US-60/62 bridge across the Mississippi closed for at least the next 12 months for repairs.
I have created a closure until the end of September, which is the longest permitted by the editor at this time. I am leaving this note here (and in the Illinois forum) as a reminder since I will likely not have editing rights there when the current closure expires.
I found an IDOT letter stating that the bridge would be closed from March 16,2015 to March 18, 2016. Can we not just put multiple closures in place up to March 18, 2016?
IDOT letter
DOAH! That was my bad, I got that letter and closed it for 2 days. Missed the year for the opening.
I got it closed till the end of the year, last time I tried to go longer it wouldn’t let me. I’ll try again though.
Edit: I did get it to go thru till March 18, 2016.
I did the same thing recently on another closure.
Glad we got it worked out.
Awesome, glad you guys figured it out.
Thankfully I-57 crosses the river just a few miles north, otherwise the nearest crossings are at Cape Girardeau or Dyersburg, TN. Either would be quite a detour!
Old thread (8 years but identical issue and similar dates?) but bridge is closed again. New to this process so apologies if I should have actually created a new thread as app suggested.
per my experience on Wednesday Nov 8 2023 and this news article bridge remains closed.
