Users who work on published events will now receive an email notification

Hi All, Happy to announce that we’ve rolled out a change that should help everybody who works on traffic events to be better informed about their event status.

All users who create or edit an event should be receiving an email if their event is published by our team. If the event was not published, no email will be received. A published event means that a push notification will be sent to users who commonly drive on affected or nearby roads. More information about traffic events can be found here.

In case you’ve created or edited an event, the event has been published (you see a green check mark next to your event in the WME), but you do not receive an email, please email waze-closures@google.com with your username and the MTE id and we will look into it.

Thanks
Maiyan

That sounds great and just in time. submitted an event (id: 5439989.54137744.276485 - in Wiesbaden, Germany) that heavily affects traffic in the area and waiting for the push notification.

Could you also consider informing the contributors of the event when it was decided to not send a push notification?
Otherwise, the submitter waits and possibly expects a push notification but without reward.

Thanks!

Great!

I think it is helpful for us to receive confirmation of the publication of the MTEs directly.

Thanks!
