Very odd routing

There’s a UR here with two right turns shown on Wokingham Road.

Asking for a route along the A329 seems to include Mill Lane to the south. I guess there’s something wrong with this node?

Any ideas what to do to fix it? :? Thanks

In the past there has been something similar on an open stretch of road with no junctions, where the driver reports a turn where no node exists. However, this is clearly something to do with the side road (even if it’s not shown that Waze routed through it). A service road is essentially the same as an ordinary street and will not prevent routing (so it’s practically useless except to denote something to other editors), I would make the such side roads private so Waze only routes to them when the destination is on them. I do the same with those little side roads that run alongside main roads and contain shops.

This is of course only my take on this, others may differ.

PS I don’t get any reference to Mill Lane when routing eastbound.

Odd - I get Mill Lane included routing in either direction!

Is this one related? The user got a “turn right” even though the route shows straight on. Can’t see any recent edits and I don’t get a “turn right” if I request the route now… :?

Isn’t there also sometimes a problem with roads which leave and rejoin another road with no intermediate nodes? There’s a discussion which I think may be relevant here https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=57215.

I would suggest creating an otherwise redundant node in Wokingham Rd (by creating and then deleting a new road joining it).

Also agree with David’s suggestion of making it a “private road”.

Duh, I’ve been on at people all week about those and I missed that. In the dunce’s corner for me!

Same problem? Same solution.

Ok, thanks - I’ll make the side roads private and create extra nodes in them.

It’s almost the weekend!

That’s good?

Depending on the weather…

What weather do you need to edit all day?

No chance of any road paving when it’s like this outside!

Lack of initiative!

Speed data is not important when paving a new road, so get your dinghy out and row through that new housing estate with Waze running.

Note to self:
Make some space in the cupboard next to the snow shovel and the air conditioner.
Buy a dinghy.

Remind me how creating new roads goes: “Insert”, “Landmark”, “Sea/Lake/Levee” ?
