So I found a UR in Overland Park, KS describing an issue in Carterville, MO (NE of Joplin). The UR read,
“took MO 249 N from I-44 EB to I-49 NB. Directions did not indicate that I needed to get on MO 169/Business 49 South to get to NB I-49. Could someone look into this?”
My editing rights end about 4mi West of I-49 in that area so it doesn’t quite cover the area of the report. I did look at the roadways and played with some livemap routing and seem to have identified the issue. Assume you start at around this segment and route to Overland Park, KS via I-49. The routing gets you there via State Hwy 249 N to State Hwy 171 to I-49N to I-435; the rest is irrelevant. The UR refers to Bus 49, which is an alternate name for State Hwy 171. As the user mentions, there is no verbal cue where Hwy 249 N ends near Centerville to stay right for Hwy 171 South. (why it’s considered South when it heads North I have no idea).
I believe a wayfinder ramp segment at the South end of this segment of Hwy 249 N would force the TTS prompt to stay right to continue to Southbound Hwy 171. Separately, one may wish to confirm the primary name of the Hwy 171 segments in the area and consider whether it makes sense to make I-49 Bus the primary name for the stretch from this intersection through to I-49.
