If I am navigating to a place using the name rather than the adress, I usually search for it in apple maps, and then copy paste the adress into the waze search bar. If find this a lot more effective than using he built in search on waze. It would be nice if the Waze Team could collaborate with Apple, and have a “Open in Waze” button added to the screen you get when you click on a result (red pin) in Apple Maps. This button could open the waze app, and take you directly to the screen you see after you select an adress on the Waze search screen (to the screen where you either select “Go”, “Routes”, or “Options”). I think that would require a modification of the maps app. Currently, when you place a pin in maps, only these features are supported:
- Route here* Route from here* add to contacts* send (by mail, text, or twitter)* add to favourites
Please redirect your request to 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA or ask Tim Cook directly to add on option “open in another navigation app”.
Maybe they can still bring it into iOS6… (< 3 hrs left till WWDC, so get going Apple Devs!)
