Aledo, Texas: There is a permanently closed gate at the North end of Exceptional Lane, where it intersects with Lynn McKinney Way. This access point is for pedestrians only and is not accessible to vehicles.
Lynn McKinney Elementary can ONLY be accessed by vehicle via Nightmist Road. Waze is currently routing visitors, deliveries, and other drivers to the gate from Old Weatherford Road, which creates confusion and requires them to turn around.
Please disconnect or restrict the road segment at the pedestrian gate so Waze no longer routes vehicle traffic through Exceptional Lane to access the school. Again, vehicles can only access Lynn McKinney Elementary via Nightmist Road.

The segment with the bridge now has a real-time closure (RTC) in-place to stop routing through, a temporary measure while we look at any necessary permanent changes to be made. Please keep in mind the turns you disabled require a map tile update cycle to complete before it reaches the app, while the aforementioned RTC is immediate. We’ve also brought this to the attention of local editors in the Fort Worth area to assist.

A couple of weeks ago we had an emergency, and the fire department got stuck at the gate and were too big to make a U-turn which significantly delayed them reaching us…Definitely want it permanently fixed for this upcoming school year so nothing like that happens again!
