Waze keeps on crashing after 30 July 2019

Hi,
We are using Waze 4.45 on IPAD2s with IOS 9.3.5. Since yesterday afternoon, Waze keeps on crashing and automatically minimizes itself. When opening Waze again, it opens up as if it was restarted. Using the buttons “About” and “Send logs” also results in a crash. In the Appstore under purchased, it now lists Waze as version 4.53 (not sure if it auto updated in the back ground) which requires IOS 10 at least.
Please help.

Same issue, except app store reporting version 4.53
Issue began perhaps a day earlier.

still no answer?
These updates are screwing people. IOS 9 just started to crash after 10 sec. Please consider people using lower versions of IOS.
