Waze@Leyte

Hello to the philippine waze community!
In march 2016 i want to spend 4 weeks vacation at Leyte and i hope i can advance waze at this place too. I read already your philippine waze wiki, many differences to our german wiki, but i hope i can be useful for good edits at Leyte. I hope for a good cooperation
Regards and Cheers
Tilo

Hello Tilo :!: Let me be the first to welcome you to the Philippines :!: :stuck_out_tongue: I hope that your stay in Leyte is going well so far sir

An editor of your experience and credential is of course welcome in the community more so since that area could still do with some more fine tuning. I look forward to engaging with you sir and learning from you as well. Mabuhay :!:

Guten Tag Tilonius and welcome to the Pinoy waze community!

Hm, your Live-Map is crazy, so many towns are under water :o Maybe I am scared to drive in the Philippines?! Much better ā€œdive - dont driveā€
Good news! You get a new Map for your county with exactlyer coast and sea borders!
A week ago i started to filling a google sheet with Permalinks to the livemap for issues about coverage gound by sea, but its to much  I gave up
Thats why i am happy to get the mail from the HQ about your completely new map with the hard coded sea.

Thanks for the report Tilonius, with so much coastline on the 7,107 islands, we don’t get to check each one for the sea/ocean boarder issue. We have the 4th longest coastline in the world at 36,289 km.

Until they get reported as a UR, we don’t get to see and report them

Waze >>> more ā€œFUNā€ (or pun) in the Philippines

Your efforts are much appreciated indeed, Danke Herr Tilonius

Hello Tilonius how is the trip going so far? I hope the sights and sounds and the warmth of the people are helping to make this a trip worth remembering. Since repair of the city is still underway, how are the roads and is Waze still up-to-date and relevant for driving around there? :geek:

I am still in the preparations for the travel, for example to buy any outdoor and survival equipment and prepare the map in the WME to find the hotels. When we visit my parents in law i must map the street to the Barangay, its not a good satellite picture of this area and no street in waze at this time.
We stay 4 weeks at leyte, i am happy to spend my vacation in this relaxing area - without big citys and wide malls, only nice nature
For one week we go to camotes island, very nice place with beautiful beaches…
On march 8 we start our vacation, landing in Cebu.
Cheers and salamat!
Tilo

Are they already landed? :o

Ahahaha! Yes, just a fun thing the editors did during our last local map raid in the area  No harm done. We are planning to have a local cebu community meet up. No date has been set yet but I hope that it coincides with your arrival. We would be happy to meet your acquaintance.

For Cebu, may I suggest you try Fredz Sutukil, it’s a seafood restaurant near the Movenpick Hotel in Lapu Lapu City. Also, may I suggest you try the spicy lechon cebu by Lechon Cebu in City Times Square, Mandaue City if you’d like to try some of the local roasted pig. Both are searchable in Waze. Have a safe trip sir.

Hello Tilonius! Just wondering if you are going to be in the Cebu area around April 6 to 10?

My flight at home is in april 6
Two days bevore i am in Mactan to start to say good bye to the philippines, then my fantastic vacation is over.

That is too bad. I will be visiting Cebu those dates and am organizing a meet up with the local editors there. It would have been nice if you were able to join us. Anyways, I hope your vacation is going well. We hope that you will visit again.

By the way, while in Cebu, may I suggest you try the spicy lechon belly from Lechon Belly. It’s in Waze and is in the City Time Square mall. Mabuhay!
