Main use of the app for me so leaving this out kills the app…

Waze should still be showing speed cameras, that is definitely not something they’ll ever remove (unless somehow forced to by the government).
There have however been some bugs with the cameras working properly after some changes in the app. The whole system to add cameras is quite finicky and sometimes requires us to remove and add the camera, for it to work again. So if you have a specific camera that doesn’t work any more, that might be the issue. If it seems to happen with all cameras, something else would be going on.
Also, it’s important to know you will only get an audible alert for a camera if you are going over the speed limit. For years, we’ve been asking Waze to add a setting that allows people to choose how they want to get alerts (“always”, “only when speeding”, “never”). We might be getting it soon, but it’s not there yet. Therefore, I’d like to encourage you to check your settings to make sure you’ve got the alert enabled. I’ve personally disabled the alert for red light cameras, as their presence is clear to me without an alert. But that’s a personal choice, of course.
