Waze routes me home when I search and select a different des

Hello Wazers… apologies if this is a newbie question - I searched the forums but missed any earlier topics on this.

I’ve been using Waze for a year or so, specifically the IOS app. Recently I have found that Waze is routing me home after I have searched and selected a different destination.

If I repeat the search and set it as ‘New Drive’ then it works fine.

I suspect this is a subtle UI change that I have not noticed, or perhaps finger trouble on my part, but it seems to be happening more often recently. Is this just me and old age, or is there some pattern to this quirk?

OK, so I googled this a little more and found the “Allow auto-suggestions for destinations” in the web dashboard.

Disabled.

Hoping that is the solution. Moving on to “how tf do I change my forum name after already selecting a username in the IOS app”.

Welcome to the forum,

Glad that you were able to find your answer using search :slight_smile:

When you correctly change your username, the change can take some time to be sync’d accross all platforms (App, WME, forum, website etc…) Usually that should take 24/48h at most, if it doesn’t I would wait at least 7 days before being too concerned, some servers (like the one for the scoreboard) update weekly only.

As far as appearing with your new username on the forum, it should just be a matter of signin in at
https://www.waze.com/signin?redirect=%2Fforum%2F
with your new username and password.

Thank you for posting this. I have been having the same issue for a couple of weeks now. Hopefully this issue is resolved by the developers in the next update.

Luckily this issue has only costs me about 30-45 minutes of needless driving. It’s funny how much a creature of habit I am; even when I get into the truck knowing that I am going to a different location, when Waze starts routing me home off I go.
