Waze show me driving through farmer’s field even though I’m still in the highway

Lately, I have noticed that as I am driving on the highway in SE Minnesota, Waze thinks I am veering off the highway into what looks like, on the Waze map is a farmer’s field. Then Waze wants me to make a u-turn at the next intersection. But I am actually still on the highway following the original route. This happens two or three times between Rochester and Minneapolis, usually at the same places.

I have checked to make sure that my app is updated. I use an iPhone SE, iOS 17.3.1 and I use CarPlay.

Any ideas what is going on and how to fix this? We are taking a roadtrip soon and I want to be confident that we can get where we need to be.

I can’t say much, but there is a known issue with CarPlay and non Apple navigation apps that can result in some weird “snapping” issues. If you encounter this issue, you can keep driving on the road you are on and Waze will eventually figure out where you are. I realize that’s not exactly “everything’s fine,” but unfortunately, that’s the best we can tell you.

Ok. Thanks for replying and letting me know about this. I have found that unplugging from CarPlay and plugging back in helps. I guess I will be on “Waze watch” while Mr. Wonderful drives.
