Waze support map update request: Wrong Direction

Hi,

We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.

his is the user’s request:

[State] PA

[City] Malvern

[Permalink] https://ul.waze.com/ul?ll=40.06576595%2C-75.59654486&navigate=yes&zoom=17&utm_campaign=default&utm_source=waze_website&utm_medium=lm_share_location

[Request type] Wrong Direction

[The user’s request content] “If you were to enter the address 2148 Bodine Road, Malvern, PA your app incorrectly instructs that you’ve reached your destination while on Interstate 76 because the property abuts the highway. You cannot access the property from the interstate highway. In other words, there are no directions to the driveway of the residence, and no physical junction even close to that location. I watched all but the last three minutes of your editing video and while a very well made and informative video, I have no way of determining the best route in order to edit. I’d rather let you correct the map because I have no idea of what I’m doing. Thank you.”

Thanks,

The Waze Support team

So the issue here is that in Waze this is Charlestown, PA not Malvern. Malvern is likely the USPS city name and since Waze didn’t have that, a Google Maps result was used and the Lat/Lon of the point is closer to the highway. I’ve take a few steps to correct this issue. First, I’ve added the driveway as a PR which will help with the GM point (hopefully), Second, I’ve added an RPP with Malvern as the city name. 3rd, since Malvern is defined in our city layer already, I’ve added an alt city name for Bodine Rd just for good measure. I’ve also added the missing HN. The last thing I’ll try to do is move GM’s point but that is a crap shoot. //MIKE aka sikemever(5)
