Does Waze allow it’s users to create YouTube videos and social media about Waze? We read Use Restrictions in Waze Terms, we see restrictions for creating Waze clone apps using Waze’s data, property or software.
Do those same use restrictions apply to livestreaming/screen capturing WME or sharing screenshots/video clips of the Waze mobile app on social media outlets? Particularly to not copy, publicly display, frame or mirror Waze.
Yes, vince1612, the end-goal for us creating social media about Waze is to share Waze, because our world is big and mapping it together is better.
Target audience members are watchers and subscribers on YouTube, as well as followers on G+ and Twitter. We’ve been looking for other ways to share since G+ is closing.
As for the kind of content, in the past we made YouTube videos about:
Spaghetti junctions, race tracks and international mapping on Map Maker
Adding new roads on Google Maps
Making 360 photos for Street View
Bathurst and Nurburgring on Here Map Creator
Meet-ups with Google Local Guides
Suggesting edits for places on Google Maps and Here WeGo
The driving reason behind those videos is to find others who want to help map the world.
Thanks again for looking into it. Kind regards from Osaka78
Thanks, I’m not a legal expert at all but based on the fact that there are several tutorial videos about using Waze and mapping out there already, I don’t see why you’d get in trouble for the use you are describing.
