Welcome from Nashville

Hey guys I had them create a Tennessee Sub-Group hoping we could get some discussions going.

I see a lot of discussion in other areas and figured there was a lot going on at least in Nashville and I would assume other areas as well as Waze gains in popularity.

So if you have any questions, comments or needed edits feel free to post in this section.

Thanks and welcome to the Tennessee group.

Chris Jolly
Area Manager - Nashville, TN and Cookeville, TN

Hi Chris, I am the area manager for Knoxville but I also edit in Nashville as I go there about once a month (I am actually typing this from a hotel near Vanderbilt right now).

I have state-wide (actually country-wide) editing rights, so let me know if you get stuck on something!

Hi Chris! I’m a fairly new editor, currently focusing on micro-cleaning on the greater Maryville area.

By Micro, I mean I’m going through every street in my AM range and checking restrictions, etc. and locking it. I figure that a commute isn’t much good if you can’t get to the freeway

Anyway, I was born and raised in New York, moved to Maryville 6 years ago, and am now going to University of Chattanooga at Tennessee (Freshman / Sophomore Year). So I’ll be editing a lot of roads in between Maryville and Chattanooga over the next few years

Welcome! I think that’s how we all start out. I know I focused on where I went to start with and fanned out from there.

Welcome!!!

Well, that was placed on hold. I just discovered that US-411, south of Maryville, is a complete mess.

On the other side, so is US-27, north of Chattanooga, espeically when it degrades from a Freeway, becomes a complete mess. I did some fixing, but I still have a lot of work - and they’re both major roads, so my priorities changed

I forgot about US-411 (its quality that is). I actually once drove from Atlanta to Knoxville using US-411 instead of I-75 “just because”. It was soon after I started using Waze and it was a mess. I think I fixed some things, but my attention was focused on Knoxville proper back then.

Don’t ya worry about it. I’ll get it fixed, probably before tomorrow comes around.

Yep. Got down to Madisonville. My editting rights stop at Englewood, so I’ll apply for AM south of Englewood and get the rest of it patched up to Georgia. Then I’ll head over the US-27, fix that up from Chattanooga to Dayton

Don’t you have classes to pay attention to?

That’s exactly why I’m off from Waze today

I’ve had Waze for about a year and I’m trying to learn more and more about how it works so that I can more properly edit routes. I’m not posting on the board much, but I am constantly on here reading in order to learn. I’m just trying to catch up on all of the thought that the Mega Wazers have put into map editing.

I manage several areas in middle TN and NE AL. A little background: I have lived in (and visit on regular basis) Columbia, South Nashville, La Verge, Cookeville, Knoxville, and now Baxter. I am an AM in all of those areas except for Knoxville. I think WeeeZer14 has got that one covered pretty well anyway. I also have worked in all of those locales plus Brentwood and Chattanooga, so I am also an AM there. I don’t edit in Chatt that much anymore as I haven’t been there in months. If you need specific help there, R4CLucky14, I can help. I currently work near Scottsboro, AL and make a weekly trip there from Baxter down TN-111, US-127, TN-28, and US-72.

If you see opportunities for improvement in how I edit maps, please let me know. I just want to get better so to help the community.

I look forward to more interface with you other TN Wazers so that we can get our map in good shape.

Okay, I’ll start to respond :). I think I already told you I’ve been a whole lot less active than I expected to be.
I’ve personally been steering clear of Chattanooga. I know the inner-city is, relatively speaking, a mess, and can definitely need work, but my main work has been getting the major inter-city routes up-to-speed. The Interstates in the area are good, and I believe the other few Freeways are also good in Chattanooga.

I pretty much have all the TN and US highways East of I-75 and south of US-321 updated satisfactory for traveling. My project, when I disappeared, was fixing up US-27 to I-40, and then all routes in-between US-27 and I-75. At that point, that would be all I have driven (I have no need to go west of US-27, and upon completion of that, everything East would be in a satisfactory condition), so I would then turn my attention to Chattanooga.

However, (talking to myself), I do need to go fix US-321. I incorrectly labeled US-321 S as US-321 W. Dido with US-321 N as US-321 E.

Greetings from Northern Tennessee. I live here but spend about 50% of my driving in Tennessee and the other half in Southern Kentucky. I spend most of my time editing out here in the middle of nowhere.

R4CLucky14, don’t get too happy about ‘locking’ a bunch of segments. All that does is keep others from making needed corrections or updates.

I’ve been editing a lot in North Central Tennessee and Southern Kentucky (Franklin Ky south to Portland Tn all the way over to nearly Cookeville north to Tompkinsville, Ky). The rural areas were a mess up here and there is a lot of creek crossings out here in the country that I’ve been trying to make note of in the road restrictions.
