Just want to get the community involved on this and try to get some clarification for everyone, I have encountered situations of some editors changing road types to private on city/town streets. From my understanding this is not correct. As per the Wiki, “A private road is a road that should not have any traffic routed along unless directly at the start or end point of a route. Most private roads have a gated or other controlled access points.” While YES, they should not have traffic routed along them unless directly at the start or end point of a route HOWEVER I don’t believe changing the road type is necessary unless traffic is needlessly being routed down these streets on a regular basis OR if they have physical restricted access controls such as a gate prohibiting entrance onto these roads OR the road has 1 way in & out. If traffic is being routed onto roads that are not a main thoroughfare, then turn restrictions should be checked along the route to make sure they are enabled/disabled properly & possible might want to consider changing the MAIN road to a Primary Street. Thoughts?
The segments that were requested to be Private Roads are listed: Here
An example of what I believe to be correctly designated as a Private Road (A road with 1 way in/1 way out): Here
Per the Wiki, a trailer park would be marked as private roads. But I’m not sure I’d agree that this is a trailer park even though the houses are trailers. This looks like a standard subdivision type of layout. If the roads are not marked as private roads on the street signs, then I don’t personally think they should be private in this instance. There doesn’t appear to be any reason why people shouldn’t be allowed to drive through there. Just my opinion, of course.
I just realized my initial post regarding Privates Roads did not reference the USA specific Wiki. The link to the Wiki you provided is correct. However, you are right, this still doesn’t seem to be an actual trailer park per say, rather city/town roads with trailers on them? I would consider an actual trailer park to be something more along the lines of This.
I’m not certain that even qualifies as a trailer park. A trailer park is typically owned by a group or company and the lots are rented out without a trailer on them. People who rent the lots bring their own trailer and when they leave, they take the trailer with them. This appears to still be just a development that happens to be trailers. If someone wanted to build a house there, they may be allowed. And it’s possible that the land is owned each person. I can’t be sure, but that’s how it appears to me.

Each one has its own flavor. The main thing to think about is do they want the general public to drive through the area. (No trespassing sign / residents only sign / Private Property sign…) The one example given - these segment - based on the Street View I would not have classified it as private, but we can not see the north side of the segments to totally know for sure if through travel is discouraged.
(as a side note: - this segment is one way and needs to be changed based on SV)
I live in the development there, travel on that road is discouraged. This is more of a service road per say, Township workers do not even maintain/plow this section of Mill Creek Rd. Drivers should use the Main entrance further down for Mill Creek Acres.
My apologies, I flagged all these segments since I do not remember which roads exactly had the requests to be marked private, so all of the segments here were not initially flagged, however there were at least 2 or 3 requests to make some of these roads private. Not sure if that helps shed any light on the matter
However, you are mistaken. The definitive answer is that the URs indicated the points beyond which access is not open to the public. That you see trailers there is immaterial. The key fact is that official signs are present which restrict use to traffic having a legitimate destination along a private segment. If you look carefully, you might even notice that the private portions are gravel roads whereas the public portions are paved with asphalt.
