Wiki Categories

The Australian Wazeopedia is broken down into the categories outlined in the table below. When creating a new topic care should be taken to make sure the topic is placed into the correct category.

Category Description
Resources for New Editors Contains links and other resources applicable to new editors. While aimed at new editors this category also contains links to other training resources which existing editors may find useful. Examples of topics include
  • Training videos
  • How to access discussion sites
  • Waze Academy links
  • Our Community Information related to the Australian Waze community and its leadership. Topics that describe differences in Australia and how our community handles them should be placed here. These topics do not directly affect the functioning of the map or navigation. Examples include:
  • Our leadership team
  • Duplicated cities and how to deal with them
  • Local laws
    Note: this does not include topics that outline local differences in mapping (for example EV stations) or apply universally.
  • Map Editing Guides Topics that relate to using the Waze Map Editor (WME).
    General Knowledge Any topics that do not fit into either Map Editing or the Waze App.
    Waze App Topics that are specific to the Waze App. Examples include:
  • When instructions are given
  • Beacons
  • Wiki Resources Documentation for maintaining the wiki as well as stub pages used as templates.
  • Style guide
  • Category descriptions
  • Waze Discuss specific markdown/code
