Hi everyone!
I’ve noticed an interesting issue. Several people have already pointed out that when they try to come to me on Kölcsey Street in the 17th district, Waze takes them to Hektár Street in the 17th district instead. I tried it myself, and indeed, when I typed the street name into the search without a house number and clicked on the result, it jumped right there… But Hektár Street is not Kölcsey Street (there couldn’t even be two streets with the same name in the same district), and it was never called that; Kölcsey Street has had this name for at least 60–70 years. Why would this be on the Waze map?
I couldn’t reproduce the error. In similar cases, it’s also worth comparing the Google result with what Waze is (apparently) showing.
Yes, Google might indeed be to blame, because Google Maps does the same thing. I reported it, but I don’t think they’ll fix it for years. Is there some way to “disable” this error in Waze somehow?
Here is what’s happening: I’m currently in the real Kölcsey Street, but it also shows one 3.5 km away. If I tap on that, Hektár Street appears.
