The best hotel in Sarasota for sure, perhaps on the entire west coast. The place is expensive especially on the upper floors but there forward facing rooms have great views of the bay. There is noise from the road and the car entrance but for us the view is worth it. The rear facing rooms are quiet and face the small bay in the back. It has some pelicans which are fun to watch.
The food is from a single restaurant which has improved from a year ago. Dining there in person produces a better quality product than the room, however. Room service as with every other service is prompt and friendly. We have been here many times and have made several friends on the staff.
The hotel has a private beach club, with buses running to it, situated on Lido Beach. The set up there is pleasant enough. The beach is one of the best anywhere as the sand is very fine. Millions were spent replacing it to a very high standard.
This hotel is really a fine place to spend a few days
