Construction is underway for a new replacement offramp for the Eastbound lanes exiting to Cobourg at exit 474 to Division Street and Baltimore Road. The exit will be before the bridge with a small curve, instead of after with a near full circle ramp as it is now.
It’s worth noting that much of the Cobourg area hasn’t seen photo updates in the past few years (hence why much of it looks black and white) so the new offramp may not show up visually for a while, either.
There is also signs of construction on some of the other ramps, but it’s currently unclear what the final product will be. It looks like they may reroute the onramp leading westbound as well, but it may just be temporary for future repair work as the pavement is badly damaged there.

Since you’re local, it would be good to keep an eye on it. You may be able to find information online as well at the MTO etc. Once the road opens, it would be possible for you to “pave” the road to get the correct alignment and then make a request for a level 5 editor in this case to connect the road.
Wazers will most likely file map issues soon after it opens but it’s always nice to be on top of things.
The main ramp is all graded and it looks like they’re prepping to pave it. They began work on the other existing onramp today, too. So far it’s just ditch-digging for drainage, but it’s pretty clear they’re reworking all the ramps over time.
It’s about time, too! The one onramp has been very accident-prone due to having a two-lane merge at the start before two sharp near-90-degree turns leading to a short onramp. There’s no time to accelerate until you have less than 100 metres to merge with the 401, which is only two lanes in that area.
I was thinking of checking online or at City Hall for planning details about the construction as well as a detailed road survey. There are a few one-way roads in Cobourg and Port Hope that aren’t listed as such, for example. I’ve corrected a couple, but I know there are more I’m forgetting about. The out-of-date satellite imagery doesn’t help keep the map up to date, either. There are two shopping clusters that have been rebuilt from near scratch in the past 5 years that aren’t showing on Google’s (and thus Waze’s) satellite imagery. I can estimate current store placement, but it looks “wrong” if someone were to come by in edit mode and see stores placed in the middle of (the out of date satellite image of) a parking lot.
Most editors that have a bit of experience know that stuff “in the middle of nowhere” usually indicates outdated satellite images or recent construction. In general, if you’re not sure or haven’t been there in a while, don’t delete. Better to post a question here than undo valuable information.
Sometimes, Google Street View can be used to verify, or even the “what’s here” option in various on-line map sites (especially where there are images available).
If you assume that the satellite images, Google SV, and other uploaded images on the interweb are outdated, you will make better editing decisions.

Roy.
