这两个是不同的弄，一个是 大同路922弄，另外一个是 1010弄 很多的弄 每个弄里面还有一大堆的号。
难道命令一大堆的街道名称 922弄 923弄 924 弄 … 每个都是街道名称？

翻译的话 弄对应的英文是lane。一个大的街道含有很多弄，每个弄又有自己独立的号码。
例如大同路990弄，有大同路990弄1号，大同路990弄2号…
然后还有 大同路991弄，991弄1号，991弄2号…
接着 大同路992弄，992弄1号，992弄2号…

Sorry for late response. I am being caught by work. I’ll respond with some suggestion later :wink:

It seems there are few building blocks in one 弄. Look like 弄 is similar to estate. You marked a whole 弄 as a single ‘place area’. I think that is OK and we should not mark every single blocks. That’s too much. So…

Few options:

  1. Name the street as 大同路, house no. will be 990弄1号. (benefit is we will not create new street names but it seems the editor does not allow us top input the house no. like this :frowning: , other question is, do we have to put the house no. 1号?
  2. Name the street as 大同路990弄, house no. will be 1号. (problem is it will create many new street names. Also if we put 1号 then we should change ‘place area’ to ‘place point’ for each block.
  3. Name the street as 大同路 and house no. will be 990弄.

I prefer option 3.

如果开发人员，可以建立一个新的功能：在门牌下 分两级， 如果没有弄得，就直接用门牌号，如果有弄存在的的，启用二级门牌模式，可以先填写多少弄，再填写多少号。我个人认为这才是一个比较好的方案。

Haha…I don’t think they will. So we have to stick with ‘没有弄’ situation.
The reason I prefer to use option 3, i.e. only put 弄 in the house no field. As it is used for the place, not for the street. All street number should be on the street segments. In the future, we will have more chance to allow us to input, e.g. 992弄1号, as a house number. Think about how we search address. For example if we are going to 上炼二村, we will type 上炼二村 or its address 大同路992弄1号. We should have no problem to use 上炼二村 as it is the name of the place. If we use 大同路992弄1号, Waze should be able to direct you to 大同路992弄.

If you only fill in the house number 门牌号, Waze may direct you to 990弄1号 but actually you are going to 992弄1号

如果把地址翻译成以下这样，也许比较容易理解（Lorong=巷，马来语，常用于新马街道名）：
Let’s put it this way, it may be clearer to understand (Lorong=lane/alley, Malay language, often used in street names in Malaysia/Singapore):

张扬北路5900弄115号 = 115, Lorong 5900 Zhangyang North Rd

这样看的话，我建议每条弄应该是一个独立的街道。
So, I suggest each 弄 shall be a separate street.

Yes, I think your options 2 is a better solution.

Technically these are individual streets, just that they use the same so-called “prefix” being a street name (大同路). But the distinctive indicator is the 弄 number for the street. Each 弄 has its own series of house numbers, so it would not be appropriate to use your option 3.

I’m not sure what are the adverse effects of creating more street names. Maybe you can enlighten me so we can further think of some compromising solution？

As for whether to use area or point place, I think it follows the general rule: if the place bearing that address is visibly distinctive, we can use area place. Otherwise point place shall be used.

If you are going to do like this, then we will come up huge amount of place areas/points. From your example, as least we will have 115 place points to create for each house number :o

If 弄 is an individual street, then we should map a segment and put the house number on it.
