Hi all,
See above link for the junction in question.
There is a UR presenting the problem at hand: at present the turn permissions allow U-turns within the junction. On the one hand this is a “use the transparent aperture in front of you” situation, but on the other is there a more elegant solution to employ (while preserving a semblance of simplicity to the map)?
Thanks.
This is an easy one… once the segments are unlocked to your level
Waze has a built in u-turn prevention as long as 3 conditions are met:
- Three segments: The U-turn is a reversal of driving direction through three segments:
an incoming segment, a single median segment and an outgoing segment.
- Short median: The median segment is shorter than 15 meters (49.21 feet).
As a safety margin, leave a 1 m buffer zone by using 14 meters (45.93 feet) or less.
- In/out parallelism: The in and out segments are within ±5° of parallel to each other.
In this case the second condition is not met as both these segments are 62.34ft long, if they were shortened then the u-turn prevention mechanism should work.
And that would qualify as an elegant solution.
I shall proceed to the unlock forum - thanks for the explanation
