How should I deal with Access Only roads? I tried searching the forums but didn’t find anything specific, nor in the wiki, I’ve set it to Private Rd but not sure if this is correct.

I didn’t see much point in discussing a specific case, since there is either a uniform way of dealing with them or there isn’t. To clarify the issue I’m talking about roads which are access restricted with this road sign:
Generally they are suburban roads which if not “Access Only” would be utilised as so-called ‘rat runs.’ There are no turn restrictions, no bollards or gates and for all intents an purposes the road is traversible as normal. Except that it is not suited to high volumes of traffic, either it is too narrow or it is in a residential neighbourhood thus the need for preventing Waze from routing traffic through that road.
If it’s a public right of way then it should be a street.
If it is not a public right of way then it’s a private road.
If it’s a limited access road, for instance to get to a motorway service area (for employees and emergency vehicles only) then it should have turning restricted to STOP routing though it.
If it’s a public road with a restriction that vehicle use is for access only, then I don’t think it should be a ‘street’.
The objective should be to avoid Waze routing through traffic down it, whilst still permitting navigation to addresses along the street, and navigation out from it.
I think this is best achieved by allowing turns, but setting the road to either ‘service road’ or ‘private road’.
I think it’s OK to use ‘private road’ on public streets for this purpose, Waze is a navigation tool, not legal documentation of ownership.
I’d agree with that, draw them, let people turn on them but discourage the client from directing people down those roads. It’s the person using the app that needs to take care and be aware of where they are driving.
I agree with ditchi56 but prefer to set it to ‘private road’ rather than ‘service road’. My understanding is ‘private road’ has higher penalty. If you use ‘service road’, it is still have a higher chance waze will route you passing through this road.
In conclusion, set turn allowing and ‘private road’. 
I use service road for dead ends and private for connection roads

Private road would be best for limited access. It lets people drive to it, but not through it.
Service road has little or no penalty for routing.
It doesn’t matter what road type a dead-end road has either. If you’re driving to an address on a private road, then Waze will route there regardless of penalties.

That’s what I wanted to know, I assumed Private Road would be the best for these kinds of road, but I wasn’t aware of how the routing penalties applied to different road types.
