it would be really nice to be able to do something that other maps don’t do and that is an ability to add quickly traffic lights and traffic sensitive lights. when looking for fast routes i will take no lights to off kilter timed lights…
just a button u could quickly press while going thru n intersection or option t add light at last intersection crossed.
The average speed of segments which is recorded by wazers driving with waze on, will automatically take into account any time spent stopped for a traffic light, and therefore Waze can make proper decisions on fastest route. This is because the time to travel a segment will include the time spent waiting for the light to change. This is averaged out from the shortest cycle to the longest, to also wazers who make it through without stopping.
Unless you are concerned about gas efficiency from stops and starts. It could be a useful feature from that POV. Although, because an alternate route may be longer, you might end up using the same amount of gas anyway.
You are certainly welcome to add this suggestion to the client uservoice.
I think posting lights would be a great idea, specifically a light on my way to work that alternates and can cause issues for drivers being stuck in the lane that is red even when there is no traffic. Nice heads up for people to pay attention and smoothly get to where they are going.
