The Map Raid will run from February 16th to March 2nd.

:speech_balloon: For any issues entering your editing area, please reach out to your team mentor on Waze Chat.

  • Add road segments and connect them.
  • Add natural features.
  • Lock Segments:
    • ST : Auto
    • PS : L2
    • mH : L3
    • MH : L4
    • FW : L4
  • Ask questions and seek help from your mentor and in this forum if needed.
  • Map together and have fun!

:heavy_multiplication_x: DON’T:

  • Map outside of your assigned polygon.
  • Modify existing edits on street names, house numbers, road types or any other segment attribute.
  • Modify ANY EXISTING POI shape: names, addresses or any other POI attribute.
  • Add any POIs including Gas stations, except natural features.
  • Split existing segments.
  • Create non-existent features or landmarks.
  • Don’t use scripts in Ethiopia and Somalia.
  • Engage in any harmful or disrespectful behavior.
  • Forget to enjoy the process!

:exclamation: IMPORTANT: To maintain a fair and enjoyable Map Raid, mentors have the option to remove participants who do not follow these rules.

So… Don’t touch any old stuff?

Just to be on the same page. What does splitting mean in this case - is it splitting a two-way into two one-way roads OR splitting a segment by adding a junction? (or both)

Interesting choice to give one person two biggest teams and different countries.

Hello everyone!

LihtsaltMats have a good question, clarifications is needed.

I’m guessing it does not apply to mapping a new road connecting to an existing one should split the existing one.

The aim of all these map raid is SIMPLY o add missed roads in assigned areas in order to prepare Waze for further Map raid actions and in order to have an useable map more trusteabke than Gmaps one .

Adding speed limits is not foreseen and n case of real need , it will be done in other map raid just devoted to certain kind of activities

Mainly for Kenya I highly recommend to really follow rules .

Could you, please, post the local Wazeopedia URLs for the three countries, to let us edit following local countries own standards?
And, beside, are there local traffic rules we need to know (i.e. U-turn not allowed, restrictions in signaling Speed cameras, etc)?

Yes , what I wrote is just to add a node (splitting the segment) without any other reason …. But if you have to connect a new road …obviously you will split a segment .
