Area Managers - Oldest Update Request?

Put in the date you’re adding the note, ask the user to contact you because you can’t find any problems and need help to fix it. Give them contact methods for you, such as email or a link to create a PM to you on the forums.

This is my boilerplate text for something like this:

Thank you for the map error report!

After checking all the roads in the area and comparing them against aerial photos, I am still unable to find a problem near by. Forward this email to alanoftheberg@gmail.com with your comments and additional information about this error report.

Please reply within 7 days so that the map may be updated quickly. If you cannot reply within that time, this request may be closed.

The <pre> tags format the email such that all the line breaks are included. However, it also makes the text smaller and changes it to a different font. I’ve received more responses lately to update requests feedback than before, mostly from newer users. I still get maybe a 5% response rate.

I use Google Reader for my area/state and I star the ones I respond to so I remember to close them after 7 days.

There is more on this topic over in this thread.

I hope it will get some day possible to filter this by country…

The spreadsheet isn’t the best.

FYI, there are 600 open URs in Netherlands. 356 in the UK.

Don’t I recall a post where the Netherlands editors stated that they have enough Area Managers/Editors in the country? With 600 open URs, seems like this is not the case!

A pittance compared to what must now be open in California.

I think the majority are in non-managed areas. I will see thonight if I can find large conentrations…

Where did you found that?

The World update request spreadsheet. I downloaded it to Excel and then use Autofilter. Country is one of the fields.

Should be quick to sort out with your 3 screen display

We have new screens! There are still 4 of them, but they are HD widescreens now…

I never tried what happens to either editor when I stretch a browser window across all 4 screens…

My mistake, 4 screens. Seems to me you are better off Chrome and Papyrus running on each screen so that you can work 4 Update Requests at the same time! And since you may still have to overcome the road layer not updating issue on the World Papyrus that will give the other’s time to catch up when you work on the next issue!

Well… I checked the sheet. The 600 entries are the separate feed for Dutch cities, this does not mean there are 600 UR’s…

But:
When I finally managed to combine al those feeds, I found about 770 URs… Luckily 80% is less than 6 weeks old and most of the older ones are construction zones where the AM left a message to other editors why things are edited the way they are.

When I finish my current project, I will start to clean up this list.

I realized that much later. My mistake.

URL please.

Today i got a larger area and found this:

Found a few these days…

Gotta hand it to him, since he didn’t get discouraged when nobody responded. This was underneath:880days.jpg

I’m about to ask for AM status for some areas because of map problems and deletion requests from at least two years ago going totally ignored by the guy who volunteered for AM for an amazing portion of Japan. He is still active and is very high in point standings and map editing…just never does any deletions or error correcting, apparently.

People who want AM solely to expand their editable area so they can crank up their editing points shouldn’t be allowed to be AM, in my opinion.

All updates help I guess. Maybe points should be higher for URs to encourage people to do more of them. Resolving URs doesn’t seem to earn points as fast as other activities.
