At all cost divert travel through Highway 40 in North Carolina

I traveled from Columbia South Carolina up to Ohio and it sent me 71 the whole way. No delay delays very smooth trip..

I don’t have any Maps so I trust Waze judgment. On the return route it had me go through Highway 40 in North Carolina, which was a disaster two hour delay.

And then, after looking at the map, I could’ve took 71 home

I don’t understand why waze makes decisions to send motorist through Highway 41 when they’re severe construction and major delays.

Hi routing depends on a lot of things and not sure how or when you looked at the map to see 71. I have had people complain about being routed off I-95 N in Virginia to I-81 N and delayed two hours. But when they looked much later it was free. Why yes it was but when they traveled there was an overturned gasoline truck that blocked the American Legion Memorial bridge for 13 hrs.
Also if not routing on a segment the traffic and alerts may not load to save bamdwidth usage.

Hi, the area is still recovering Hurricane Helene damage. At least on the Tennessee side there are still areas where it’s single lane where they’ve had to shift the lanes. I found this with some pretty good footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-swAIlobNKM
