At-Grade-Connectors in Oman

Hi there, visiting in Oman and was reviewing a few areas I drove through recently. One thing I’ve noticed while driving around Muscat is I get exit instructions where I normally expect to get turn or keep instructions. Looks like the AGCs are set as Ramp type (PL). I’m used to seeing them match the lowest of the two roads that connect them, is there a specific reason these are set as Ramps here?

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,

And welcome to Oman
Good catch there, and the area can definitely use some upgrade. There’s no particular reason for that construction, other then:
-lack of (experienced) editors
-lack of wiki
-lack of wazers like you, who report this

Some MH or mH might have an exit-structure where you’d want ramps, but this here has at grade intersections, so you’re right, the ramp category doesn’t fit here.
Actually the segments could be removed completely. I’ve KISSed these 2, to show what it should look like according to me: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=58.45343&lat=23.59791&zoom=6&segments=246726091,337881572

Sounds good, I will clean some of these up that I’ve come across.
