Hey all
Have made several trips to Boston from Lancaster, PA this year. Waze normally does great. However I would like to avoid the GW bridge because it’s a ridiculously high toll. My reroute options all include the bridge. I could be a jerk and do something in the map editor but obviously that isn’t the nice or smart thing to do. Avoiding toll roads significantly increases my travel time because it avoids everything. So how can I avoid the bridge? I don’t know the area so ignoring waze and taking a different route until it recalculates isn’t really an option. Any suggestions?
So you want to take some toll roads and avoid others?
At this time Waze doesn’t support custom avoidance.
Which bridge/tunnel do you prefer to cross the Hudson River on/in?
Ha. I have the same preference when traveling from New England to PA.
Here is what I do: Set your destination for Nyack, NY, which is adjacent to the Tappanzee Bridge. When you get close to the destination, enter your real destination.
Bonus: When you are on the bridge, set your current location as a favorite by tapping on the bridge and holding it until the menu appears. When the location balloon pops up, tap it and add it to favorites. In the future, you can just set the bridge as your intermediate destination (that’s a term I just made up).
