after being robbed at an intersection, I would like to URGENTLY request that apart from having the option to avoid “highways” / dirt roads etc but that we can avoid AREAS!!! Took me AT NIGHT, WOMAN ALONE, STRAIGHT THROUGH DIEPSLOOT in jhb… this is NOT a save option but i needed to rely on Waze to get me back home since i didnt know the area at all. NOT COOL!
Perhaps when route options are presented, have a pop-up with areas that I can un-tick which I want to avoid and then waze can create a new route based on my preference of safety

That is awful, and I’m glad you’re physically okay. It’s a huge flaw in any of these apps. Until they add an ‘avoid area’ feature, a quick tip is to check the ‘Route List’ before you hit start. It usually shows the suburbs you’ll pass through so you can reroute manually if you see something that looks wrong.

thanks for your feedback. I always look at those route suggestions - but dont know how to MANUALLY choose another route option? Would be most grateful to look at doing that
