The Birmingham CAZ starts on June 1st.

it would appear Waze is already routing me around it. I’ve turned off avoid tolls, made myself Grade D CAZ exempt but it seems to be making no difference and Waze refuses to send me through the city.
Any ideas what’s going on?
ETA: It looks like it’s to do with the type of vehicle
If I change my vehicle type to electric, it navigates me through the city again.
We have this mapped ready to start on 1 June… it is definitely based on vehicle type and the pass has not yet been fully added to the to mapping.
Looks like we’ve had a glitch in the system, we’ll have a go at correcting it, this might take a couple of days.
The avoid tolls option doesn’t have any influence on CAZ areas (including the London CCZ/ULEZ). Thanks for highlighting this issue.
The CAZ area has been updated, and routes into Birmingham will no longer show that pop-up.
We’re working with Waze to get this ready in time for June 1st.
Thank you, can confirm all back to normal after changing my vehicle type back to private/unleaded.
My vehicle will be exempt from the charges anyway, so I assume the exemption option for Birmingham will be available on the 1st. If it’s not, I’ll let you know. Well likely to be the 2nd as the 1st is a bank holiday.
