Why are routes still being calculated through London Congestion Charge Zone & Ulta Low Emission Zone when I have them added on my Toll passes & exemptions.
If you have added the passes for either the CCZ or ULEZ, or both, you are telling the App that you are happy to be routed through these areas. You should remove the exemptions and Waze will avoid the areas unless the destination is within them.
I just set up the app to “avoid toll roads” but it took me through Central London and I had to Pay ULEZ charge. Plus, it took me through the narrowest streets possible, with speed restrictions and one way direction.
I realised that I was inside the ULEZ area when * read on a street sign “this is the first ULEZ street in London”.
I tried this yesterday and it worked fine for me.

I think if I was you I’d recommend resetting the app by typing in the address search bar ##@resetapp
Just to confirm the avoid all tolls option has not affect on the CCZ & ULEZ routing, if your route goes into these zones you will get a large pop-up alerting you and you then have to choose to accept the route (Drive Now) or add an exception which tells the App you are happy to be routed into these zones.
If your destination is within the zones then Waze has no option other than to take you into them.
Also worth noting that, at present, selecting the “Drive now” option is not recommended due to the risk of it causing incorrect routing instructions to be given once within the zones. Anyone wanting to route into or through the ULEZ/CCZ should therefore add the relevant exemptions in their app, removing them again afterwards if necessary.
As far as I’m aware the TFL ULEZ zone is not the same as the ultra low emission streets zone, which is run by Hackney council and is only operational during peak hours.
Some of these streets are within the TFL ULEZ zone but others aren’t. My question is does WAZE know about the ULEZ streets that are outside the TFL zone ?
