Is there a way around the Verizon software lock on the GPS signal with a Blackberry 8830?

waze installed looks cool, but can’t get a GPS signal.

Waze supports only in the BlackBerry Devices from 8900 and above.

is there anyway to get the GPS working over a BB 8520???

The 8520 does not have a GPS receiver. In order to have working GPS on an 8520 you would have to buy an external GPS receiver.
