Cameras for speed control AND red light in Germany

In Germany more and more often cameras are for both… speed control AND red light flash. would be great to have a choice by making a correct camera information for both cases…
How is it able to bring this information to the program resp. Programmers?

There should be another button for choosing when I’ll report a camera.

If a camera just with red light control is changing to become a camera with both, speed and red light control, it should be possible to change the entry…

A red light camera is announced everytime. A normal speed cam only if you are above the speed that is allowed.
So there is no need to put 2 cams on the map.

Also, as written in the Wiki, you can insert the speed limit into the red light cam if this is a cam for red light and speed measuring. If it is only a red light cam, the speed should be 0.

I sympathise entirely with your wish for better handling of combined cameras. They are installed all over the UK and we’ve been asking Waze for better handling of them for nearly three years. We brought it up at the last 2 UK meetups and they said “we’ll get back to you”. :roll:

A couple of things to note:

  • You can’t handle it with 2 cameras. If you do, Waze will start to announce the first and then immediately cut off and announce the second.
  • My feeling is that you should always be warned of a red light camera. If you set a speed on a RLC, then you will only be warned if you are over the speed limit. For that reason, policy in the UK is never to set a speed limit on a RLC - at least that way you’re always warned.
    Ideally, I would like to see the app act differently for a RLC with a speed set. It would always announce “Combined speed camera ahead”, plus a warning sound if you are over the speed limit.

If you guys want to open a second front attack on HQ, you certainly have my blessing! :lol:

Thanks for the info on cameras. I’m not familiar with speed cameras, since we don’t have them where I live, and I would love to keep it that way and keep my money!
