Canada - Can't add new cities

Hi,

I’m new to Waze editing and I hope you could help me. I’m currently editing road in my home town and I can’t add the city to them. I always get an error saying that “You can’t add city to this country”. The “exact” name returned when I search for my village is “Sainte-Justine, QC G0R” but even then, I can’t add it. Do I need to be a level 2 editor before doing this?

Thanks for your help!

Would you be able to provide a permalink?

BTW: I’m moving this thread to the Quebec forum.

A search in the editor brings me here:

https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-70.35272&lat=46.40748&layers=4071&zoom=5

I believe it is set to rank 3 editors to create cities, though it could be even higher.

I’ve added Sainte-Justine to one segment for you. You should be able to update the rest now.

Thanks! It now works.

Another question, if it requires a rank 3 or higher to add cities, is there any way to “suggest” or “request” a new city to be added? I may not have the required 25k edit before some time

Just request an Update in the CAN - Update & Unlock Request forum.

Sometimes, when you add a street information, Waze will default the province to Alberta instead of Quebec and will give your the error you had. Just check the province if this happens

Wow

I see you got a lot of work there.

I use validator to find them

Put ${state} in the template
and /Alberta/ as regular expression.

They will appear miles and miles around till St-Magloire ans beyond.

And you will find even small in between segment like this one.
Route 281

BTW, Rue Ste-Anne has a Elevation of 6, i’m pretty sure it’s not accurate! Or else, it’s one hell of a drop!
