London Congestion Zone

Hi,

Today I was required to travel to London to an area outside of the Congestion Charging Zone but the route Waze took me went directly through the London Congestion Zone. Is there a way to set the app so it avoids this zone? My car is ULEZ compliant so I have that exemption set but whatever I try I cannot get it to give me the route that avoids the Congestion Charge Zone.

Many thanks in advance and apologies if I posted this in wrong place.

Mike

Moved to UK forum for local answer. I know there is a way but not sure exactly how to do it. I think it is set up as a toll tag option but someone local can confirm.

Please can you confirm you DON’T have the London C Charge Exempt enabled in the Toll passes & exemptions settings in the app? If you have this added, then Waze will give routes through the zone. Also ensure you have the correct vehicle type set - you should have it set to Private. If you have it set to Taxi then Waze will also route through the zone as they are exempt.

And also remember the zone only applied from Mon- Fri 7:00 - 18:00 and Sat-Sun 12:00 - 18:00, so, outside those times, Waze will route through the zone.

Can confirm I did not have the C Charge exempt set but it seems I had the car type set to Taxi. Mine is a PHV which although commonly referred to as a Taxi by most people is not strictly by definition a ‘Taxi’. Lesson learned.

Many thanks for clarifying.

Thanks for confirming. Yes, strictly in the UK, Taxi is defined as a Hackney Carriage. Unfortunately, there’s no way of us to clarify this in the app itself.
