I’ve added a new road ( https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=-0.36857&lat=51.25873&s=104332759&zoom=5&segments=338473030 ) and place ( https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=-0.36857&lat=51.25873&s=104332759&zoom=5&venues=235667969.-1938091002.13444945 ) to represent Embers camp site at the National Trust property at Polesden Lacey ( http://www.emberscamping.co.uk/campsite/embers-polesden-lacey ).
Could somebody check that it looks right and approve the place? Waze had an incorrectly positioned place but I think this comes from Google ( https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Embers+Camping/@51.2582276,-0.3718333,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x62d49b5ad4935a3!8m2!3d51.2582276!4d-0.3718333 )? I’ve updated the location in Google too.
I tried to associate the new Waze place with the Google place but couldn’t find the Google place by searching for Embers. Any idea why this failed?

I’ve approved the camp site. I’d suggest you give it the same address as Polesden Lacey itself and tick as many of the boxes under the More Info tab as possible (presumably it takes reservations?).
The secrets of how to identify a Google place to link are unknown to me. I either get a match, or I get offered places with similar names in the US which are no use to man nor beast seeing we aren’t even on the US server. It was a question I meant to ask at the UK Conference last month but somehow failed to do so

From my hit & miss learning of Google linking we can’t link a Google place that is green, why… that would require me to spend time caring about Google Maps which is not something I’m likely to start doing any time soon.
Not being able to link to certain Google places is largely/entirely due to HQ recently messing around with the search parameters used in their calls to the Google Places API - they’re currently limiting the results to only those places tagged as an “establishment” within the Google maps data (which also means we can no longer link Google results such as postcodes). This doesn’t however appear to provide an answer as to why the campsite can’t be linked, because when you search for that in Livemap (where the API calls haven’t been similary hamstrung), it is able to provide a result for this particular campsite, and the data returned for the result indicates that Google have tagged it as an “establishment”.
It also appears they’ve seriously tightened up the search radius used when looking for linked places, to the point where I’m not entirely sure how it’s returning any results right now - if my interpretation of the API call vs the Google documentation is correct, the search radius appears to be set to 5 metres around the lat/lon of the selected Waze place, which surely can’t be correct…
I think this has now been fixed (after the UK Conference?) as I always get local UK places at the top of the list now rather than US.
Probably - it certainly looks like the Campsite category of Google places is not coming through on the linked places. When I search for ‘Embers Camping’, none of the Embers campsites are listed; the only option is for their corporate office in Reading.
In case anyone’s wondering how the campsite has now been linked to the correct Google place, I could tell you but then I’d have to force you to walk the plank, yarr 
Ah. That explains an identical situation I had with a caravan park. I could find a shop inside it, but not the park itself
I just had a similar issue with a walking trail. It’s returned in the app search but not WME google poi search
HQ say they have now fixed this and we should be able to find all Google locations.
I can no longer see the Google link on this location, is that because of my level?
Adding Google links from WME is restricted to L3+ so yes it is likely your level.
I don’t think that’s correct… I’m L2 and I just added a Google link…
Can a Country Admin confirm this as I can then amend the Wazeopedia page.
I can confirm that the level was lowered to 2 on the 7th September.
The Global Champs were having a discussion about this. We created a poll in the GC forum to gather our views, probably with the intention of asking HQ to change it. But I guess they were watching as they saw the majority view was to lower the level to 2 and they implemented it before we asked. :mrgreen:
