(A247 - Kingfield Rd,Westfield Ave,B380 - Vicarage Rd,B380 - Westfield Rd and other Streets and Highway)
Web page for closure(s):- http://surreyhalfmarathon.co.uk/road-closures/
Common section,5k and ‘Kids’ route:- Permalink
Primary Street and MH portion :- Permalink (which also have no waiting restrictions from 6:00 a.m.)
Following Streets locked above my level and only visible at Zoom=4 :- Pl 1… PL2…PL 3…PL 4
PL 5…PL 6…PL 7
and the one that I can edit which contains restrictions is :- Start and Finish
(or was there another way to combine it all?)
I have also published (I hope correctly, would you please check) the event, an omission from my previous request of this nature.
Edit:- Having reread the Wiki, I haven’t ‘published’, only entered some information, I hope helpfully.
Yes - the best way to do this is to create an Event … and then we can add as closures in WME and attach those closures to the Event. Once that’s done you can publish the event which means there is a webpage, and Waze might publish it via the app to nearby drivers if they consider it big enough.
Closures are best (rather than restrictions) as they can be added and removed in real-time whereas restriction only get updated with the map data, so once a day if we are lucky. The downside is only a L3 or above can add them, but thanks to your work with the links that’s easy for me to do.
I’ve done the main route, and will look at the other links now.
OK - I’ve also added the A320 (locked) and a few bits around Saunders Lane at the NW edge of the route that I think you may have missed.
Tip: you can select multiple segments at a time by using Alt-Click - that can help doing a long stretch and makes sure you don’t miss any little ones along the way.
Take a look, and if all OK go ahead and publish the event.
I can still tweak closures after that if needed.
Thank you for your effort and guidance comments. I have checked and ‘published’ the event and think I understand the process better now.
As you say as an L2 I cannot apply closures and therefore had to resort to restrictions on the ‘donor’ segment: overdid it of course but assume the options are all there to allow for ‘cloning’ to work on one way sections. The instructions were written assuming editor closure capability, uplifted I believe to avoid the NIMBY practise of closing residential roads to prevent traffic diversions, AKA ‘rat runs’.
I was using the ‘m’ option for selecting multiples but the shifting Zooms to display Streets as opposed to PS and MH probably led to the odd miss. It took one or two false starts until I finally understood the FUI message about missing segments when recalling my Permalinks.
Thank you again for checking.
I am (almost) feeling guilty about not participating in the event myself, but working hard to overcome the sensation!
