CM in SE Florida

I have started editing in the SE Florida area, specifically the Miami area. For those who don’t know, I will be attending a graduate program in the Miami area and will arrive in the area sometime the week of August 19th. I’ve already started to clear out UR/SRs that I’m able to easily fix. I have already seen the UR/SR requests and I’ve got my work cut out for me. I haven’t found a local editor, yet and I’m beginning to think no one edits down there (due to the plethora of requests that need to be handled), but I am willing to help train anyone who wants to take on the monumental task of editing.

For those who don’t know me, I’ve been with Waze for about a year now. I’ve edited San Antonio, South Texas, West Texas, cleaned up Guam, and have been actively helping editors in Texas as well as around the country in solving issues or unlock requests they have. Driving79 has asked for my help many times and she’ll vouch that I’m a very easy going CM who’s not here to cause problems, just help people Waze from point A to point B.

Any questions, please feel free to ask. You can also PM me anything, too.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the roads. Though I’m only a level 3 editor for a small area, I’d be willing to offer local insight.

I try to edit as frequently as I can, but I don’t know all the roads and one thing you’ll notice is that a lot of Miami Wazers like to report General Errors without any additional information.

I try to keep up with the city I live in (Hialeah) and the areas I commute, but outside of that I cannot make many changes confidently.

It’s very exhausting trying to keep up with some many URs day in and day out and it seems like I’m the only one around here trying, lol. I know that’s not the case and know of at least three other editors in the area, but the volume of UR compared to the number of editors willing to make improvements to the map is unbalanced right now.

There’s time when I just take a two week break from editing because it’s becoming a chore. It should remain fun, you know?

When I hit it hard, ill have them cleared out in about a week, but I need to get eyes on for a lot of things.

An invasion!!! ha ha Glad to have you helping in FL! Yes, I will vouch for the help you give me, and the projects that I have helped work on. I don’t have any areas in Miami that I have access to currently, but if you ever want my help, just let me know and I can try to get access to help.

Good luck with your move, although I have a feeling you don’t need it. :sunglasses:

As I told you earlier, I’m trying to solve those very old UR.
I’m “local” to Miami (Miami Springs/Miami Lakes/Opa-Locka/Aventura) and Orlando area and willing to help!

I’ve kinda been MIA for a while but I (used to) edit a lot in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area and am trying to jump start my work again. I just fell off the bandwagon for a while.

I’m more than happy to help out!

…I know that this thread is a bit older, but I’m trying to do what I can to help w/ editing…I’m only a L2 right now, & can’t always be on it editing…
…I’m in Fort Lauderdale/Cooper City/Coconut Creek areas all the time & up into some areas of Boca as well…
…I’ve noticed a lot of the things I feel like editing seem to be locked or seem to be so mucked up that I’m not even sure where to start on how to fix them…I do read the wiki & look around in the forums, but it seems that I am spending too much time trying to find what to do instead of doing (it seems there should be some easier way to find the info)…also, I am semi-lazy in the fact that I don’t want to have to deal w/ sending a request to unlucky something, if it’s locked I don’t want to be the one to mess it up more when it unlocks…but I definitely see lots of things that need fixing…I don’t want to have to be as accessible to others as an AM is supposed to be, otherwise I’d try to be an AM for the areas that I frequent…

You can always send me a PM to ask anything, or even ask me to unlock something. I can probably answer it faster than you looking in the wiki or can find it pretty quickly in the wiki. Some locked roads may have been locked on a different locking system than the one in place, now, so unlocking really isn’t a problem.

Since several people seem to be “checking in” via this thread, I’ll introduce myself as well. I’ve been using Waze for about 9 months and editing for about 3-4 of those. I’ve just made Level 2 editor recently, and I’m trying to start from close to home (Miami, near Midtown and the Design District) and work outward from there.

I’m slow at editing because I’m “a little” OCD about the precision and quality of my segments and placement, and I’m still making newbie mistakes… but I’m getting better about the mistakes at least.
