Hello editors of the Waze community of Florida. I am a new editor. What are some tips you guys have on editing for Waze? Thank you!
Hello TheTeek03,
There are many tips that we can provide you.
The most important one is our Wazeopedia. Located here.
We all use a communication platform called Discord. It makes communicating with the Waze community and Southeast Region much easier for guidance and advice.
Here is an invite to the server if you would like to join us. https://discord.me/southeast
Welcome again to the addiction of Waze editing.
Welcome. The best tip you’ve already learned! Research and communicate. ![]()
Before tackling something, search the Wazeopedia for article(s) on that topic. Note that mapping guidance changes frequently, so remember to re-read topics often.
It’s completely normal to have questions, so please feel free to reach out on Discord and someone will gladly walk you through any processes you like. We help each other out.
Chrome browser scripts/extensions such as WME Toolbox, WME Color Highlights, WMEPH, JAI, and PIE can aid you in finding map situations that need your attention.
I am writing because you said you are an editor and I really don’t know how this works.
Be aware that as of Oct 20, 2018, the exit for Miami International Airport on SR 836 East is now a RIGHT EXIT. In addition, the exit is 1/2 mile west of the former exit.
Hi @kelbickd1 we fixed this a few days ago (Sunday afternoon). It should be updated in the app by now. Thanks.
kelbickd1, if you’re on this forum, you’re an editor, too! In fact, everyone who uses Waze is an editor. Waze relies almost exclusively on local volunteer editors to keep the map current.
Here’s the key starting point for new editors.
