I saw this (https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=656&t=134017&p=1064766&hilit=pur#p1064480) in the topics list but it is a little old so I figured I would create a new one.
It would be nice to have a comment section on a PUR, especially for pictures. It would allow the editors to give a reason why the picture or update is being rejected. So maybe the next time they would try to take a better picture that did not include, faces, license plates, etc. I think this would help the community be more aware of what we as editors can accept. I think being able to tell them the reasons instead of just rejecting it would help more, due to the fact users my be confused or upset that their pictures or updates never get published. Just food for thought. Would love to hear thoughts on this.
This would be a great addition to PURs! And uscwallerâs drop down tabs suggestion would be a real time saver.
When I reject pictures, I often look to see if the person has a forum account so I can give them a quick note about why I rejected their picture â or the whole PUR, for that matter (usually because thereâs already one for the place).
If the picture was a good one, I accept and then delete. If not (way out of focus, or too dark, or too much rain on the car window, or I canât figure what theyâre showing), I do a straight reject. It would still be much fairer to be able to tell them why, as Gadtica states above. That way âWazeâ wouldnât seem so âunreasonableâ.
The people who are really trying to do a good job, hopefully, would then be educated about what is appropriate for pics and continue submitting them. The ones who arenât serious about it wonât care one way or the other.
Iâm very reluctant to reject updates, especially if they appear to be submitted in good faith but have defects such as faces or showing the inside of a place. In most cases, accepting a PUR ends up creating a lot of work checking or updating other facts about the place. Feedback to the submitter would be a good idea.
