Hi all - new Wazer (or editor) at least. I am keen to add all the roads for the Wyanbene, NSW locality. I have access to create them all after driving them but I can’t connect them to the main road Cooma Road, Krawaree which needs Lv 3 access.
Also, can someone advise a new bloke on how I would get access to map areas outside phone reception? I’ve driven them but it looks it doesn’t register because I’m out of 3G/4G range at the time?
To gain access to areas where mobile phone reception was poor, you can either reach out to your State / Country Managers https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/Australia/Country_Managers or apply for an area to manage. The latter requires a few months editing experience though and we also encourage you to join our Discord community in my signature below.
Cheers, two more questions sorry, I have most of the roads created but it appears the suburb of Wyanbene wasn’t previously known to the map. What do I need to do to be able create the city name?
Also, when a road passes into a different suburb, is it best practice to create them in two different segments so you can name the suburb separately?
Thanks again. I note the reference to external sources. That’s actually the reason I’m doing this, all the other maps are terrible for this area. A lot of private roads are mapped as public roads and the house numbering is a dogs breakfast. Once I finish mapping the area we will be able to recommend Waze to guests / deliveries trying to find their way. There are also tourists who get lost going to Wyanbene Caves which I hope to be able to fix up as well. Is it worth starting a new thread to get assistance as I map the area or can I keep pestering you in this one?
