I think waze needs the option of how wide of an area maps are saved on your device, this would be nice for when your in an area without cellular service you would still have the maps on your device.
I don’t know about most of you, but I think on 2 Gigabyte space you can store the whole US on your device, this would not bother me at having space used for maps on the micro SD card.
Driving down California highway 1 is an example of a good 100 miles without cellular service.
Does anyone else have this problem?
The application does cache the maps as you drive. And currently it does pull in some of your route ahead of you, but not all. To guarantee that you have the maps for an area with no service, pan through that area while you do have network connectivity.
It would also be nice if waze would remember what areas have bad cell coverage so that if you get routed thru an area that does have bad coverage it could download that area way ahead of time so you dont run into that situation like with that 100 mile section you mentioned.

Yeah, my thoughts were, that it wouldn’t just try while it is there, but remember what it attempts, and keep retrying. Do the current area stuff first, but when idle pick up the older stuff.
Of course it would help if they cached the whole route, hopefully they can go back to this once they get infrastructure changes done.
