Is there a way to have the map saved on my phone?

I live in the middle of nowhere. Most times around here we barely have cellular signal, let alone internet to update the map. Is there some way, or could there be some way to load the map to the phone, and data I changed, noted, edited would be updated whenever I am able to get signal again. Currently I simply see “searching network” as soon as I get a mile from my house.

This of course would take more memory on the phone, that I understand. Anything I can do to assist in this just let me know.

Today I drove 100+ miles, and 5 were recorded.
This is an LG Android btw.

2nd most requested feature.

Waze does cache a certain amount of map, but not enough to travel 200 miles to a place you haven’t been before. The pre-loading is the important part here.

Hey, I was looking for a place to post requests, but it seems to be the #1 requested feature.

I looked, and saw no other suggestion with windows 7 in them.

Someone needs to have the job of “merging” requests that fit in other areas. (with the original posters permission of course.)

The 100+ miles of travel in my original post were all within 45-50 miles of my start point, At one point I was able to establish connection again, and picked up a piece of candy for 200 points. Something in the software should have said… “Wait a second, he is 50 miles from his start location, he’s driven more than 5 miles, and needs a map from here, to there.” and promptly downloaded the information.
