Edit request - Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Rd, Angeles Forest Hwy to Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2)

For the last few months navigation services have had a false listing of Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Rd being closed. Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road is OPEN! This is the official detour for the western closed section of Angeles Crest Highway. Navigation should lead people from Angeles Crest Highway to Angeles Forest Highway to Upper Big Tujunga and back to Angeles Crest Highway. Navigation is perpetually leading the public through Forest Route 5N04 and Pacifico Mountain Road 3N17; these are out of the way, rough, narrow, rocky roads not suitable for for commuter vehicles. These bad directions are preventing people from accessing the OPEN campgrounds in Chilao, Horse Flats, and Buckhorn!

There is no cell service in the area to track traffic but I commute this road and there is plenty of traffic with no unusual amount of road work. Per the LA County Public Works site the road is open with “Access Limited, Expect Delays”: https://pw.lacounty.gov/roadclosures/

I cannot make the edits, so I am hoping someone could. The public should be able to access these areas!

Thank you. We have opened the road. We appreciate the update.

Thank you! The road is still open!

I have tried getting it changed on Google maps with no luck. I submitted regular corrections. They updated half of the road but there is a reported closure on the Angeles Forest Highway side that I can’t seem to get rid of. Any advise for Google Maps?

Let us try a couple things here. I will have to briefly close the road in Waze to see if Google will pick up on our revised closure end date. I will report back if we have success.

My attempt to remove the closure in Gmaps did not work. We forwarded the request to our community manager who should be able to escalate this to the correct channels at Google. We will follow up when we know more.

Thanks.

It looks like Google has removed the closure now.
