Editing advice - how to change speed limit within segment

Hi,

I’m wanting to make my first edit, and have tried working my way through all the Wiki advice, but failed to find the answer to my question. There is a segment that is marked as being 60mph, but part of this segment is actually 30mph. How do I split one segment into 3, and mark the middle section with a different speed limit?

Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the forums. The answer is to create a junction node as follows:

  • Draw a new segment connected to the existing segment, double click to stop adding the new segment
  • Delete this new segment, this leaves a new junction node
  • Change the speed limit on the new split segments as required
  • Save

being a new editor you may have issues with the limits placed on L1 editors.

[EDIT] Added double click for better instructions for future reference

Thank you. I think you are correct about my limits as an L1 editor. When I try to add a new segment it’s not recognising it, I can create the line, but it won’t let me then turn it into a segment (it keeps it open expecting me to add a second, third, fourth line), and if I hover of the delete button it says deleting a segment is restricted to L2+.

How can I report it for someone else to update?

Thanks for your help.

At the top of the UK forum is the Editor Request forum, here you can get help on specific edits. Take a look at how to create a permalink.

Did I mention you need to double click to stop adding the new segment :?: If not, my bad.

Thank you. Sorry, I’d missed the comment about double clicking to add the new segment - I’ve managed to do that now, but I can’t delete them.

I’ve created a post in the Editor Request forum to get help, and have added the permalink and an image of where the two new segments need to be created to split the road. Hopefully someone will be able to do this soon.

Many thanks for your help
